Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm & Rosewater Toning Spritz

Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm - £7.99 from Boots

At first glances this product felt quite odd to me as it balm is a solid product. You have to scoop some product on to your fingers where when you rub your palms together it turns into a thick oil like consistency. You have to massage the product over dry skin and I rub it all over my eyes to lift off any make-up and it doesn't sting at all. Then soak the cloth provided into hand hot water then remove the balm off the face using circular motions.

The balm is 97% organic and contains Shea Butter, Rosehip & Jojoba Oil and it I find it quite sensitive on my skin even around my eyes which are particularly sensitive. The cloth that you receive with the product for the price is actually better than similar price items on the market.

I find that this product is doing great things to my skin, it is soothing blemishes and de-clogging my pores. This is going to be a bold statement but I think it is the closest thing that I have tried to the Liz Earle which is really good! The only thing that I don't particularly like is the smell, however, I think that is a personal preference. I would definitely recommend.

Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz - £3.49 from Boots

I'm not quite sure why I brought this, it was an impulse buy as it was sat next to the balm. There is one thing that stands out about this and that is the smell... Now you would think that I saw it was Rosewater and not being a lover of the smell rose, I wouldn't like it and I don't. The smell aside, the product is actually really cooling and feels revitalising. I'm still not 100% sure if I like the idea of spritzing a product directly on my face but I quite like when I put it on a pad first.

It says it is meant to tighten pore but I don't think it does this, however it definitely helps remove the last traces of make-up. For the price, it is a little bit of a bargain but in reality there are a lot more products which I would prefer.

Have you tried this product? What are your opinions?

  1. Ohhh, I didn't know there was a rose hot cloth balm. And I think I've got 1/3rd off voucher for Botanics too. Will buy this next week :)
I've already got the spray and, like you, don't like to spraying onto face too much but love it when it's on a cotton pad as it just soothes any redness I have.

  5. I am in love with the sound of that cleansing balm, it's 97% organic?! have to buy that. You know rosewater can just be bought in glass bottles from specialist food shops for really cheap? I buy it like that because it's exactly the same :)

  17. That looks like a great cross between Liz Earle and Lush's Ultra Butter. I am looking for an alternative to the cleanse and polish since I am rather poor atm. I think I just found it - thank you.
