Lynx Attract For Her

Wednesday, 21 March 2012

It felt highly smug of me that when I first saw the advert for the Lynx Attract for Her, I rushed to the shops and purchased it. Lucky for me it was on special in Superdrug for £2.49 which was fab. When I got home and showed my boyfriend my new purchase, he wasn't impressed. At first he thought I had deviated from him favourite Lynx Africa, and brought he a new fragrance. He was even more unimpressed when he released that it was Lynx for women.

So with that I have repurchased this a couple of times since mainly because it amuses me that my boyfriend doesn't like it and secondly I love the smell. I generally love Lynx packaging even before this version came out and to top it I love the smell. It really lasts on your body too which is a bonus because I am forever changing my handbag and sometimes forget to be armed with a mini deodorant. So when I find one, that I can smell that is still there after hours of wearing, is what I want to get out of my deodorant.

Has anyone else's boyfriends been unimpressed with their Lynx purchases??

Lush Easter Range (& a couple of extras)

Tuesday, 20 March 2012

Yes, I have had ANOTHER mini Lush haul, seriously I can't go shopping without stopping in Lush. I just browse and then somehow I end up in at the till then out of the store with a bag a goodies... Eeek.

Fluffy Egg - Bath Ballistic - £2.95 - - - The Fluffy Egg is really ideal for an easter gift and they look cute. But the smell is really really sweet as though the egg was made out of candy.

The Carrot - Bubble Bar - £4.95 - - - Okay, I had to be honest first, this is OVER priced for what it is but I can't get over how much I like this. It doesn't smell anything like carrot, and I can't detect what the smell is. But doesn't it look great?!

Dorothy - Bubble Bar - £2.99 - - - Without sounding odd; this one looks fantastic but kinda smells like toilet cleaner in a weird sort of way. It isn't just me who thinks this but my boyfriend and Mum also agree.  I've already used it as I am a 'save the best til last' kinda gal and can't get over the smell. :-S

Pop in the Bath - Bubble Bar - £2.90 - - - I'm beginning to think that these could be great air fresheners

F*ck Monday #11

Monday, 19 March 2012

This week has just been one of those weeks, lots of little inconveniences and hassle. Hassle is actually an understatement to be honest. Nothing is ever easy or simple cliche, I know. Though I thought today instead of doing my usual rant/moan about the life and the world and how much it is all against me, I am going to list everything that is going right. It's kinda like a I know i'm still fat, poor and stressed but it doesn't matter because:

* I treated my Mum to a selection of No.7 bits for Mother's Day
* My Dad had the week off work - quality time :-)
* My boyfriend and I had a great 'nothing' day
* A couple of friends and I sorted out our differences
* My uni work is making progress
* I had a fab St Paddy's Day - Lots of alcohol and drama. haha.
* I'm getting transferred for my job - which'll make me happy for the summer.
* I have been accepted for some work experience.
* I'm slowly getting my social life back.
* And today the sun is out and the sky is blue. HELLO SPRING :-D

Girls do you agree to focus on what we do have instead of what we don't? It's my new motto - try it :)

No.7 Vital Brights Lipsticks

Friday, 16 March 2012

Left is Blooming Pink and Right is Blossoming Pink
(My photo skills are shocking)

Blossoming Pink

Blooming Pink (with a bit of a lazy eye)

These No.7 Vital Brights Lipsticks are GREAT, a million times better than any of the lipsticks that No.7 have brought out. When I first saw them in Boots, my friend Meg convinced me to pick the Blossoming Pink shade out of the two. I only had one No.7 Voucher so I had to pick one, on the plus it brought my price down from £10 to £5. Bargain! Then when I went to get the Blooming Pink, it was sold out and I only found it up in Putney after uni one day.

Blossoming Pink, is my new everyday lipstick and the Blooming Pink is a girly girl pink. These lipsticks are as pigmented as the look as a stick. They smooth on and nourish the lips and feel as though they have an essence of almost being like a lip balm. I keep pulling funny fish faces to smell the lipsticks as it is vanilla, and it's lush even if I do look silly doing it.

Has anyone tried the new No.7 Vital brights collection? I think I might check out the blushers next.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

Thursday, 15 March 2012

I wanted to blog about this before I run out of my Body Shop Strawberry body butter - as you can see I am scraping the bottom of my tub. The Body Shop body butters are my FAVOURITE moisturisers ever, I've only go a christmas one left, so I am in need of a Body Shop shop. I am always trying new and different body butters but none come close.

I have normal skin, it's not really dry or oily, I get the occasional spot on my back so it is important for me to have a blemish treating moisturiser. The thing that I love the most about the Body Shop body butters is the way they smell, and how they last on my skin. My favourite smells are fruity ones, in particular the orange but this strawberry one reminds me of Calpol -- which is yummmo.

This butters retail at £12.50 but they are on promotion a lot of the time too which is handy if you are a serial offending like me :D Check them out !

Umberto Giannini Morning After Dry Shampoo

Tuesday, 13 March 2012

I brought this on a 3 for 2 at Boots and I have mentioned the range on twitter if you follow me (@misslaceyloves) and I love it. To be honest I never realised that they had a new range out when this collection first came to stores. It was simply the packaging that attracted me and since then I have been hooked - I guess it shows how important packaging is for sales.

Umberto Giannini Dry Shampoo is around £5 and sold in Boots in the UK. It has a firm press on the bottle to release the dry shampoo. Though the product comes out quite dense so you have to makes sure that you keep it away from your roots otherwise it blasts them white... which isn't that bad for me as I have blonde hair but on any dark it would be a disaster. I try and keep it at arms length and do interval spurts with  fluff my hair between that. With dry shampoo make sure you don't just spray the visible roots - i.e. your parting, as I find that throughout the day you hair can start to get ' greasy looking'. Though it does smell great and makes your hair feel fresh which is obviously what you ideally want.

Is anyone else addicted to this range or is it just me??

F*ck Monday #10

Monday, 12 March 2012

*** There is one main thing which is effect my life at the moment and that is UNIVERSITY - the end of the year is coming up and the deadlines and drawing closer and closer. I am possibly a little stressed and being a stress head. RARGH. I know there is not that long left but I have SO much work to do and a lack of energy which doesn't pose for a great mix. For the next 7-8 weeks my new plan is to work my arse of Monday - Friday then when Saturday comes I can party on, as I few I do not feel I do anything at the moment other than sit in front of my computer. Booooo.

*** To get out of my miserable mood... the lady above Jessie J's music has really allowed me to get dancing and pumping some endorphins into my body. "I'm feeling sexy and free...." I'm a goof... I love plugging into my iPod and jamming around to music is my bedroom. I must admit in my penguin onesie if anyone saw me they'd wanna lock me up. lol

*** I have recently been getting bogged down with work, uni, money and my weight and I think I just need to tackle one problem at a time. Ideally I want to have lost a stone by April 23rd which I'm hoping is achievable but it means I need to stop putting rubbish in my mouth and concentrate on my uni work and once that is over I can rock out with a diet.

How is everyone else coping with life stresses??

Nivea Natural Beauty Scrub

Saturday, 10 March 2012

Firstly, excuse my burn on the top of my hand I dropped my curling tongs onto them the other week - that'll turn into a nice scar... pfft! Anyway back to the product in hand, which is the Nivea Natural Beauty Scrub. I brought mine from boots for £4.99 as I was immediately attracted to the packaging and the fact that it is based on natural beauty which also is appealing me.

I have been using this product once or twice a week for a couple of months and I do like this scrub as it is fine and isn't to harsh on the skin. It doesn't over smell but it is hard to work out what the smell is. It is gentle enough to use everyday, it is just that I am too lazy too.

Has anyone ever used this before?

No.7 New Found Poppy King Haul

Friday, 9 March 2012

Pictures below - Poppy King Radiant Rouge Lip Tint Pencil

Pictures below: Poppy King Lipstick in Sheer Wine

I'm having a little bit of a No.7 loving at the moment, mainly because the £5 vouchers are back out and the new summer limited edition collection is out. Despite the fact that I have been blogging about No.7 a fair amount there are only a few products I actually enjoy - the number 10 eyelashes and all the limited edition collections. This collection is from christmas time and I found it on my hunt into my cupboard along with my Gok Wan collection.

Poppy King still has an available range on the No.7 counters in Boots. Poppy King is known as the queen of lipsticks - so she has brought out a range of lipsticks, lip glosses and lip tints. Mine all came in gift sets so I also have mini mirrors and blotting papers which are cute.

The Sheer Wine lipstick isn't as dark as I would like and when you apply it, you have to put on a few coats to get a dense pigmentation. It comes out quite sheer and with a slight gloss finish. It is also pigmented with glitter which is great for a going out look. It retails at £12 at Boots which I think is over priced for how it comes out, but I did like the colour even though it wasn't what I expected.

The Pink Lipgloss (which hasn't got a colour name on it) comes out very clear, it is a non-sticky gloss but it is has a plastic-y smell/taste. It is nice for giving a boost to an original lipstick or bare lips but it isn't striking enough for me. It also retails at £11 at Boots though they no longer do my shade that I have.

Now the lip tint pencil is my favourite product from these collections but was exclusive to the christmas gifts :-( The colour comes out really rich and full, plus because it is a pencil you can shade you lips which make them look fuller. And I am all about the red lipstick. Big love for it.

Has anyone tried the Poppy King range??

No.7 Iced Mocha Nails

Thursday, 8 March 2012

I loooove when Boots gives out their £5 off No.7 vouchers. I personally think that No.7 products are over priced so when they have £5 off it's then the price I would pay. This is a recent buy of mine and I love this colour. I am very into the nude nail trend and this colour isn't as gold as it looks in the bottle. The nail varnish is quite thin and runny so you'd need to apply two coats but when on my nails is comes out quite pinkish. But I LOVE this colour :)

Gok Wan Get Gorgeous Box

Wednesday, 7 March 2012

In my bedroom underneath the window there is an eves, which is great for storing bits and bobs. I am a confessed shop-a-holic and with that it is amazing what I can find in the back. Usually it I find old/unopened christmas/birthday presents and shopping bags. This Gok Wan Gorgeous box was one of those - now it felt like christmas all over again. In this lovely red glossy box was full of yummy smellies; in this box there is a body wash and shower scrub along with a liquid gold body wash and bath essence. Now they aren't the usually smell that I normally pick because I'm not a lover of over perfumed scents which is why I'm quite glad that there isn't a moisturiser in the set because I probably wouldn't use it.

Overall I happy that I found some little goodies lying in the back of the cupboard, I also found some No.7 pieces which I obviously brought ages ago and have never opened. I will be excitingly showing you that this week, so look out for it :-)
