Christmas at Lush

Friday, 11 January 2013

So I am slightly annoyed at myself for doing this post after Christmas and now 50% of this stuff is now unavailable. The thing is that this year I asked for a few bits for Christmas, so I wanted to wait for my full collection to show you all! I am a full Lush addict and I love going into there stores are the people are always super friendly and helpful which always makes me make at least one purchase - damn them. I know there products are on the pricey end for what they are but I can honestly say that I love them!

Soaps
Honey I Washed The Kids - £3.40 for 100g
This soap is gorgeous for dry, 'wintered' skin, enriched with honey.
Rock Star - £3.40 for 100g
An old classic, it smells super girly and lathers up whilst still nourishing the skin.
Sea Vegatable - £3.10 for 100g
It contains lavender and sea salt which helps with blemishes on the body.
Snow Globe - Discontinued (Christmas 2012)
This lime citrus smelling soap is right up my street, it is refreshing and kind on my skin.
Snowcake  - Discontinued (Christmas 2012)
Marzipan Christmas smelling soap, it has a slight bit of glitter on the top of the soap but underneath it is just pure white.

Magic Wand - Discontinued (Christmas 2012)

Hair
Shine So Bright Hair Balm - £4.50 for 10g
This pricey balm is actually lovely on the ends of my hair, it is really soothing and helps banish that frizzy end look. A little goes a long way.
Trichomania Solid Shampoo  - £5.25 for 100g
I am still not a solid shampoo convert as I find it a faff, yet this one is packed full with coconut and really helps smooth and repair dry hair.

Extras
Snow Fairy Shower Gel - Discontinued (Christmas 2012)
This sugar, sweet shower gel is super girly and is great before a night out.
Twilight Shower Gel - Discontinued (Christmas 2012)
This should be used in a before bed shower, the strong lavender scent helps relax you and your muscle. It is great after a long day.
Whoosh! Shower Jelly - £3.50 for 100g
I was using the Sweetie Pie Jelly and I had glitter in it and that was a no no for me, however this one which is enriched with grapefruit and essential oils not only feels great on my skin but also wakes me up.
Dream Cream Hand & Body Lotion - £10.95 for 240g
This is heaven for when my skin is particularly worst for wear, I would recommend it to anyone who has super sensitive skin.
Popcorn Lip Scrub - Discontinued (Christmas 2012)
I am a huge fan of the bubblegum flavour, however I tried this several times and didn't like it, the final time that I did try it I liked it so I bought it instantly.

No.7 New Found Poppy King Haul

Friday, 9 March 2012

Pictures below - Poppy King Radiant Rouge Lip Tint Pencil

Pictures below: Poppy King Lipstick in Sheer Wine

I'm having a little bit of a No.7 loving at the moment, mainly because the £5 vouchers are back out and the new summer limited edition collection is out. Despite the fact that I have been blogging about No.7 a fair amount there are only a few products I actually enjoy - the number 10 eyelashes and all the limited edition collections. This collection is from christmas time and I found it on my hunt into my cupboard along with my Gok Wan collection.

Poppy King still has an available range on the No.7 counters in Boots. Poppy King is known as the queen of lipsticks - so she has brought out a range of lipsticks, lip glosses and lip tints. Mine all came in gift sets so I also have mini mirrors and blotting papers which are cute.

The Sheer Wine lipstick isn't as dark as I would like and when you apply it, you have to put on a few coats to get a dense pigmentation. It comes out quite sheer and with a slight gloss finish. It is also pigmented with glitter which is great for a going out look. It retails at £12 at Boots which I think is over priced for how it comes out, but I did like the colour even though it wasn't what I expected.

The Pink Lipgloss (which hasn't got a colour name on it) comes out very clear, it is a non-sticky gloss but it is has a plastic-y smell/taste. It is nice for giving a boost to an original lipstick or bare lips but it isn't striking enough for me. It also retails at £11 at Boots though they no longer do my shade that I have.

Now the lip tint pencil is my favourite product from these collections but was exclusive to the christmas gifts :-( The colour comes out really rich and full, plus because it is a pencil you can shade you lips which make them look fuller. And I am all about the red lipstick. Big love for it.

Has anyone tried the Poppy King range??

Sanctuary Christmas Box

Thursday, 5 January 2012

Last Christmas I received the Soap & Glory box and this year I fancied something different, one day before I was heading to work I saw on twitter that Boots were selling Sanctuary Hampers for £20. BARGAIN. When I got home my mum said that I could have it as a present. PERFECT.

The box contained:

* Foaming Bath Soak – Stupidly relaxing, I know the products designed for spa’s but wow, the smell the bubbles felt beautiful (blended with a couple of candles, mellow magic 105.4fm & Glamour magazine) might had aided the best bath but I do like to treat myself. Haha.

* Body Wash – Still the same smell throughout the brand which makes it identifiable. Lathers up really thick and leaves skin so smooth.

* Body Scrub – This is soft enough to be used every day, I use it with my shower mittens (see below) followed by the body wash equals sexy skin!

* Body Butter – I think this is my favourite butter of all times, leaves my skin again stupidly soft. I have never really used any other butter’s than Body Shop but I think this one tops the charts.

* Body Lotion – It says it is for 24-hour moisturisation however I don’t think it works half as well as the body butter, so I am quite glad it is only a 75ml bottle.

* Intensive Rescue Heel Balm – A much need product, as I work part time in retail – when I do long shifts on my feet all day, I put them in a soak and smoother them in this cream. Softest feet!! When I got home boxing day after the sales this cream felt like heaven.

* Shower Cap – It is great as only plastic on the outside but not as good as my penguin one... Look out for that post!

The box is great for reuse as it is deep enough to hold big bottles but also has sections and a handle (not to stable for really heavy things though). However unfortunately, my box got a bit batter on xmas day as my boyfriend and I were play fighting to play with his new remote control car (yes we are adults... lol) and the mirror inside got a crack on it and the side of the box split. Though being the ‘Bob the Builder’ that I am – I plan on fixing it soon – My famous last words. Haha.

Did anyone else get this for crimbo? Or treat themselves to it?
