M&S Make-Up Haul

L-R (Coral - Nude Pink - Orange Fizz)

I don't know if any of you have been in or pass Marks and Spencers recently they have had a sale and whilst looking in the Men's department for my Father's Day presents I caught my eye on the Make-Up counter sale. I have never used their products before nor have I ever looked at them, but as I'm a big sucker for a sale and bargain so I had a little look and actually found myself a couple of steals.

1. Perfection Soft Shine Plumping Lip Gloss £2 from £6.50 in Coral - This is my least favourite of all of my products that I brought the colour looks great over a lipstick because when you apply it is quite sheer.

2. Perfection Colour Intense Lip Lacquer £3 from £8 in Orange Fizz - This is picking up from my love for orange and it is a nice gloss. It does the job. It isn't wow or anything like that but it isn't terrible and for the sale price of it, I think it is good value for money.

3. Perfection Moisture Lipstick £2 from £6 in Nude Pink - This lipstick is an odd one because I love the colour of it and although it reminds me of my Maybelline one which has a few more frosty tones in than this one. It is unusual on the lips but I'm happy enough with it, it just probably won't become a staple colour in my collection.

4. Perfection Matte Finish Pressed Powder with Shine Control £3.50 from £10 in Medium/Dark - This is another product which again I think is OK, it does its job. I'm not sure about the shine control part as I am not a particularly shiny person so I never have to really worry about that. It doesn't have much staying power and reapplication is vital.

5. Perfection Long Stay Liquid Eyeliner £2 from £8 in Black - I AM SOOOOOO GLAD I BROUGHT THIS. I literally cannot explain how happy I am that I have found this eyeliner but how sad I am that it was in the sale which means it is probably discontinued. The tip is thick and firm which makes it easy to draw on. The liner is so pigmented and comes out jet black, it doesn't smudge and lasts for hours. If anyone can get your hands on one of these from your local M&S, I would recommend!

Has anyone been in M&S and got some bargains?

This is my first everyday make up post, but when I say everyday I obviously don't mean I smoother my face with all of this on days when i'm bumming about the house or going to the gym. It is my staple 'face' look. It has been pretty much the same for about a month, I tend to go through phases of using liquid eyeliner and a kohl pencil. Also the orange lip look has been a new trend of mine for the last couple of weeks since I have brought this lip butter - it is my favourite and gives the best colour that I could find on the market.

Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in Rock Chick

Friday, 11 May 2012

So I know I am looking a little bit pasty in the pictures... But I've only just brought some fake tan the other day. Now I know this going to be a bit of a controversial mention but I do love a good sun bed... I realise all the damage it does to your skin etc etc. So this year I'm trying to jump on the fake tan hype. I have brought a few tanning products so, I will be trying them out and letting you guys know what they are like.

Anyway back to the product in hand, this is the Collection Glam Crystal Dazzling Gel Liner in Rock Chick is only £2.99  at Boots and Superdrug. This is a favourite of mine and I think I'm on my sixth tube now, as I have been using this for years. I love wearing it on a night out or if I want to glam my eyes up.

When applying this eyeliner I tend to put a liquid line underneath the glitter one. The product alone is dense enough put you have to keep applying and between the applications you have wait for it to dry. I love this product for a night time look and it is really build-able to make the look for a going out.

MUA Haul

Wednesday, 4 January 2012

So considering xmas is over and I am pretty skint, but still wanted some new make up bits (despite the masses that I got as xmas presents.) Though at £1 a pop, it isn’t exactly bank breaking for such good quality items from the brand MUA which is sold in the Uk at Superdrug and online. (I’m not sure if there are any other stockists though). I product 4 products they were – Lipstick in shade 8, Blusher shade in shade 4, Mascara in shade 5 & Intense Glitter Eyeliner in Malt Chocolate.

My favourite item which is the lipstick made me receive many compliments at work today, it looks as though it is a deep red but in fact it comes out a more natural shade which looks great on my complexion and it has little specs of glitter in it which is different to a lot of the lipsticks on the market as they tend to be matte or block colour finish. It also last as well as they next lipstick on the high street – I topped up a couple of times today.

My least favourite item of the collection is the mascara for the simple fact that I need mascara that lengthens and gives volume to my lashes and this one just darkens my blonde lashes. It gives them a good dark and very natural look but just isn’t for me. If you have great lashes and you just want to give them some definition this is the perfect mascara for you. Or if you want to look as though you aren’t wearing any make up.

The eyeliner is not very glittery like the name would imply however it is a nice shade. I pick up brown as I have tons of black but I think I just prefer black eyeliner on me than brown. The thing that impressed me the most on this was that fact that the lid is a built in sharpener as I am either forever hunting for a sharpener or scratching myself with a blunt pencil. I think I am going to get the black one next time I am in.

The next top buy is the blusher; I have been searching high and low for a colour that I adore. I have always been a bronzer girl, but I love the blusher look especially in the winter when your skin is paler than usual. This is well worth the money; the colour is rich and dense. It goes onto the skin smoothly (I put it on with my Lancome contour brush) It stays all day too and you don’t need to put much on the brush to get the full effect from it. Bonus!
