The Body Shop: My Top Body Butters

Tuesday, 18 September 2012

Here are my top three favourite Body Shop Body butters - Coco Butter; Satsuma; Coconut.

The Body Shop Butters retail at £12.50  these ones are the older packaging as I brought them just before the switch over. I do love the new packaging so check it out either in store or online. On a whole The Body Shop body butters are my favourite moisturiser, they smell amazing which is a top thing that I tend to look out for. The cream tends to soften my skin and I find that it sinks in quite well without leaving my body feeling greasy or sticky.

Now I personally think they are on the pricy side even though I love the product but when you're slapping it around your body all the time, these large pots soon empty. Lucky enough they tend to do promotions on these, like the last time I stocked up they were on 3 for 2... hence I was able to pick all my favourite scents. And the smells last on your body for ages too... it always lifts my mood. I'm quite particular that I tend to use the satsuma one if I have showered in the morning the coconut one if I've had a bath/shower in the evening and the Coco butter one if my body is being dry or dull you know.

Silly little routines that I find myself in... Sounds really daft when I say it out loud.

What are you favourite Body Butters?

F*ck Monday: Update

Monday, 17 September 2012

Hello my lovely followers,

I have been a little pre-occupied these past couple of weeks, I had an internship at Delicious Magazine which was probably the best two weeks of my life. I'm dead keen to get back into the magazine industry as soon as possible. So at the moment, I am just bumming a little, working on my blog and working on a couple of small projects that I have started too.

Also my darling boyfriend is taking me to Newquay for the weekend, it's a birthday treat as my birthday is next week... eek. The big 23 :( slowly creeping to mid twenties; not that there is much I can do about it. Other than that not many different changes with me. I thought I would share this beautiful picture of Lauren Conrad because she is my absolute idol, I love her (not in a weird creepy way). Just I think she is great.

Oh and incase you have noticed I have finally sorted out my blog layout... thanks to Gillian from Elevatormusik who designed this fabulous layout. I'm so happy with it; so check her out!

Day to Night Lips: Maybelline

Wednesday, 5 September 2012

Because you can't see the lips that well I did a close up.

Maybelline are one of my favourite make-up brands around at the moment. I purchased these two lipsticks almost six months ago and at the time I worn the red one to death on every night out. Then you know how it is, I lost interest in it because obviously I brought a new lipstick (probably a red one) which replaced the current fave. These are pretty much bipolar opposites of the colour spectrum. And I love both of them, but it didn’t start out that way.

They retail at £6.99 in Boots

530 Fatal Red: Is from the Colour Sensational range and it has a hint of vanilla in the scent which I love. It kind of reminds me of the smell that make-up had when I was a child. It has a creamy consistency and glides onto even chapped lips and sits nice. The colour does last quite a while however it tends to fade outwards towards the lip line which is a little frustrating as if you leave it too long then it gives you a weird “I look like I am only wearing lip liner” look. Which isn’t cool. The colour tone is quite strong and what I tend to call a post box red. I don’t think it has either browner or pinker tones. Though I have found recently that my hands have been gravitating towards to colour again.

832 Kiss Pearl: Now this is from the Colour Sensational range and in the shop I loved it. I thought it was such a gorgeous and super girly colour. However, when I got home and put it on my lips I found that it was far too grainy for my liking. Along with that it drained my complexion and I kinda of looked like I had silver lips – something that I’m not quirky enough to pull off. I tried it again not so long ago and I thought to myself “Why on earth did I never like it in the first place?” I loved it. The weather was hot outside and I had a nice summer glow to my skin with this lipstick and my black maxi dress. I felt that I was on form. I’ve have put this in my collection of things that I can only use when I have a tan.

Does anyone else feel that they have a selection of products that they can only wear at a certain time of the year? Have you tried either of these lipsticks?

Organix Coconut Milk Serum

Tuesday, 4 September 2012

I found this little gem a couple of months ago, I had a couple of hours to kill after I had finished work one day before I was meeting my friends. Now I needed a serum (this is how I justify my purchase) and I needed it because I have begun straightening my hair again so I want something to smooth over the fine fly aways. Now this product smells A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, that's if you like coconut, as it is super strong and the scent lasts for ages on your hair too. And to be honest this is a little bit of a bargain, it costs £5.99 for 118ml from Boots.

The serum has anti-breakage technology and I am pretty sure it works, while I do have really dry hair - I actually don't have that many split ends and I put that down to this product. I try and use this product as much as I can - but if I put too much on my hair it can become quite heavy and make my hair look greasy which isn't a great look. It definitely is a product where a little bit goes a long way.

I put more product on my hair when it has been wet especially if I have been swimming because there is something about the chlorine which makes my hair feel a bit ming and that is even after I have shampooed and conditioned my hair. This serum makes it smell great and makes it easy to comb through. I have since tried some of the other products in this range and I haven't been disappointed. So keep an eye out for those reviews?

Has anyone else tried this range? What do you think??

F*ck Monday

Monday, 3 September 2012

Hi girls,
Sorry there hasn't been much blogging this week. I have been so busy, not that I have been doing anything really exciting but you know there hasn't been a spare hour in the day it seems. I'm finally kicking myself back at the gym... so watch this space as I may be a stone lighter soon (with a little bit of luck). Though this week I am a little excited because it is September finally and it is always my favourite month because it is my birthday and I can feel winter slowly creeping in and for some reason this year I am really looking forward to it. Other things that are going on is that I will be doing some work experience at a magazine which I am also really excited about for the next two weeks. I am going to try and blog as much as I can. :)

Enjoy your week!!
