Josh Osho - Myspace Studios

Monday 25 June 2012
On Thursday, my friend Alex (@alexjandra_p) won tickets to see Josh Osho at the Myspace Studios in Tottenham Court Road. She was really excited to go and asked if I would be her plus one and I agreed and thought even though I had never heard of him or his music it could still be a laugh either way. But oh my god, if you were like me last week and don't know who he is then you need to get his music in his life. He has such a beautiful voice, I didn't know what to expect or what genre of music was his but he is like a jazzy/blues/folky singer. He is a song writer and plays the guitar, his voice is beautiful and something you could listen too all day and everyday. To top it all he came across as such a warm and genuine guy who bantered with us all. I am very grateful for Alex to introducing his talent to me.

This is his most famous single - Redemption Days

My favourite cover of his :) Kissed By A Rose with Cleo Sol

And here are some pictures of Alex and I at the Myspace event:

His album came out today and is available to download on iTunes. Has anyone heard of Josh and what do they think of his music? I personally think that he is going big big place as his voice is out of this world and I love seeing people when they play their own instruments whilst singing. :)

La Prairie Lip Balm

Saturday 23 June 2012

I had never heard of La Prairie until my Dad got a couple of bits free on his flight to Abu Dhabi. I got this and a face moisturiser, this lip balm is the best thing to ever touch my lips. It is so nourishing and smooth, is great to put on before bed and throughout the day. It also aids as a good primer for lipsticks too and lip stains which I find tend to seep into the cracks of my lips. However with this they don't seem too which is a bonus! Now I can't find this product anywhere online and I have spent ages searching for it. I know Harrods in London stock the brand and it is extremely expensive so I'm not quite sure if I could afford to purchase a full size. Their lip products which they are currently stocking range from £42 through to the middle 100's. That's quite hefty for the product, anyway I just wanted to let you all know how amazing I think this product is and I'm so excited when my Dad is luckily given more. But if anyone knows where I can get it from I would be so thankful :)

Happy Saturday

Ciate - Purple Sherbet

Thursday 21 June 2012

I received this free in July's edition of Marie Claire 2012, this was the colour that I least wanted the others ware Ciate Jelly Bean, a bright pink which I really loved and the second was Ciate Bon Bon, which is a nude and is very similar to my Nails Inc Basil Street.  However, I wanted the magazine there and then as I was on my lunch break and needed something to read. So I settled with this colour and thought I would swap it with one of my friends. But then on Sunday night whilst I was laying in bed looking at my bare nails which had been colour free for at least five days! :( I was watching My Week With Marylin (which I was expecting it to be better than it was but it was still enjoyable) I saw this colour in my collection and tried it. It took only two coats and the next day at work I was paid so many compliments that I think it comes in being my third favourite colour after my orange and Basil Street. :)

The nail polish to buy is £9 so getting it free with a magazine which I would normally buy is a bonus for me but even if you're not a frequent reader of Marie Claire then the magazine only costs £3.70 so you are still making a saving. There is also a 25% voucher inside for Ciate too - which after this polish I will definitely be using.

Did anyone else get Marie Claire this month?

M&S Make-Up Haul

Wednesday 20 June 2012

L-R (Coral - Nude Pink - Orange Fizz)

I don't know if any of you have been in or pass Marks and Spencers recently they have had a sale and whilst looking in the Men's department for my Father's Day presents I caught my eye on the Make-Up counter sale. I have never used their products before nor have I ever looked at them, but as I'm a big sucker for a sale and bargain so I had a little look and actually found myself a couple of steals.

1. Perfection Soft Shine Plumping Lip Gloss £2 from £6.50 in Coral - This is my least favourite of all of my products that I brought the colour looks great over a lipstick because when you apply it is quite sheer.

2. Perfection Colour Intense Lip Lacquer £3 from £8 in Orange Fizz - This is picking up from my love for orange and it is a nice gloss. It does the job. It isn't wow or anything like that but it isn't terrible and for the sale price of it, I think it is good value for money.

3. Perfection Moisture Lipstick £2 from £6 in Nude Pink - This lipstick is an odd one because I love the colour of it and although it reminds me of my Maybelline one which has a few more frosty tones in than this one. It is unusual on the lips but I'm happy enough with it, it just probably won't become a staple colour in my collection.

4. Perfection Matte Finish Pressed Powder with Shine Control £3.50 from £10 in Medium/Dark - This is another product which again I think is OK, it does its job. I'm not sure about the shine control part as I am not a particularly shiny person so I never have to really worry about that. It doesn't have much staying power and reapplication is vital.

5. Perfection Long Stay Liquid Eyeliner £2 from £8 in Black - I AM SOOOOOO GLAD I BROUGHT THIS. I literally cannot explain how happy I am that I have found this eyeliner but how sad I am that it was in the sale which means it is probably discontinued. The tip is thick and firm which makes it easy to draw on. The liner is so pigmented and comes out jet black, it doesn't smudge and lasts for hours. If anyone can get your hands on one of these from your local M&S, I would recommend!

Has anyone been in M&S and got some bargains?

Morning Skincare Routine #1

Tuesday 19 June 2012

So I thought I would share with you all my current morning skincare routine. Now I do try and stick with this as much as I can but due to whether I am rushing in a morning or not depends on if I do my full routine or not. A little disclaimer, my skin is combination/dry and I tend to have really sensitive eyes.

Step 1 - I use my Clinique Take the Day Make-Up Remover which I only ever tend to use if I was wearing fake eyelashes the night before or had been out and didn't take off my eye make-up properly. This remover is great for getting of stubborn excess of eyelash glue.

Step 2 - Is obviously the famous Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, which I massage onto dry skin whilst the sink fills up with hot water. I use the muslin cloth which comes with it and ring all excess water before rubbing it off in circular motions section by section. Rinsing in-between. The splashing my face with cold water afterwards.

Step 3 - Lancome Tonique Douceur - Softening Hydrating Toner which is alcohol free. I love the smell of this and most of all I love the way it makes my skin feel. To me it kind of smells of Palma Violets. I just sweep this over my face with a cotton wool pad.

Step 4 - I leave my skin for a couple of minutes before applying Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator. I don't like this as much as the standard Idealist but I am just using this up for the sake of using up products.

Step 5 - This cucumber smelling moisturiser is really hydrating and soothing. My skin cane sometimes feel slightly sore after using products but this one gentle 'kisses' my skin. It is the Estee Lauder DayWear Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme. I recommended anyone with a similar skin type to mine to try this :).

Step 6 - Origins GinZing 'efreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and De-puff' - I dab a rice grain size amount underneath my eyes and smooth through. I have such dark bags under my eyes which really open them up and I love this product and the best thing about it is it lasts for ages because you only need a small amount.

Step 7 - Is a combinational step and if I am wearing a blocked colour lipstick that day,  then it is vital. I scrub my lips with this Bubblegum Lip Scrub which is a sugar scrub that you lick off. I then smooth it over with La Prairie moisturising lip balm and it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, I cannot get enough of this and it is the best lip balm in the world. I have really bad cracked lips which flake so badly. This makes my lips beautiful soft and I love this product for making them that way. :)

What are your skincare treats and tricks??

F*ck Monday: Where Is My Money Tree?

Monday 18 June 2012

This past week I have been so tired, to be honest I have been working loads. I feel like yesterday was the only time last week where I could stop for a few moments. Along with a busy week, I have felt stupidly tired and I'm not quite sure why. I feel like I could just lay in bed and sleep all the time. I also still have 12 days until payday, this has been the longest month ever and I'm pretty sure it has been the poorest that I have ever been. Though I am on a mission to ban myself from wasting money - to be fair I have hardly brought anything recently as I have been using up all my products and I am trying to lose weight so I don't particularly want to buy clothes either. :) But I do like going to the pub... :-/

Though yesterday I had a lovely Fathers Day with my Dad and I brought him lots of little gifts.

What have you been up to?

Summer Self Tanning Plan

Sunday 17 June 2012

As we are currently enjoying the Great British Summer here in the UK and as there is not chance that I'm going to get a real tan, so a bottle job is probably all it shall be for June. Like most people I do love a tan but I am more of a golden glow over an orange tango look. So from the above products, I don't apply them all at once obviously otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd look like a horrific mess. But I use them all for different purposes on different occasions.

Garnier Summer Body Gradual Tanner for a Deep Sun-Kissed Look - £5.10 for 250ml

This is perfect for everyday use, and it is create a buildable tan it nourishes the skin and leaves it feeling soft and subtle. It doesn't smell like fake tan but has a strong apricot smell. I do find that if you don't wash your hands afterwards it can leave a certain residue between your fingers, and it looks orange... (not good) but overall it is a pretty darn good gradual tanner.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Self-Tanning Dry Body Mist (Medium) - £11.69 for 150ml
I'm pretty much a fake tan virgin, I mean I have had a spray tan before but have never used a fake tan myself done by myself - if that makes sense. I have always been scared that I would either come out the wrong colour or go streaky. You don't notice when you first apply this product as the tan doesn't come through until about 2-3 hours after application. It dries pretty much instantly but I tend to do a little wiggle dance before putting clothes on. I do love this and it doesn't wash off completely in the shower however you can get darker areas which is a bit annoying, but they also tend to blend out once you've had a shower.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Self-Tanning Mousse - £13.99 for 150ml

Now onto the instant tanners - There is a positive, negative aspect of this tanning mousse. The positive being that it doesn't come out really dark from the first application but the negative is that if you want something to be instantly dark then it wouldn't be the right one for you. One thing which I find different from a gel tanner to a mousse tanner is that it smoothes onto your skin lightly and doesn't clog your pores. It gives a lovely light sun kissed colour and doesn't give that "fake" looking tan. It doesn't come completely off in the shower but does fade significantly.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Instant Tan in Medium Matte - £6 for 125ml

This fake tan is for a one night only job; it is easy to apply, it washes off instant and gives a super dark glow. I'm not really a sweaty person (nice for you to know) so it generally doesn't come off, however if you dribble rose down you or it decides to rain... this tan can leave water splats over you, which isn't create when you see the pictures of you the next day. Without any conflicting liquids this fake tan is great - though it does smell like fake tan which is a bit of a bummer.

Soltan Tanning Mitten - £3.99
Unfortunately, I didn't have a clean one to photograph so here is my manky one. But this bad boy makes sure that my tan blends in with no harsh lines and smudging. I recommend any fake-tanner to own a few of these as they always come in handy.

F*ck Monday: Rain

Monday 11 June 2012

So apparently it is going to rain for the whole of June in London... enough said really.
:( I want my SUMMER!!!

Capital Fm Summertime Ball

Sunday 10 June 2012
So this weekend I spent at the Capital FM Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium. Megs and I had standing tickets and I have been beyond excited for months, and it lived up to my expectations probably even better than when I went in 2010. :) This post is a picture post basically taking in chronological order of the day and it's events. Despite the cloudy start in the morning and the awful June weather we are currently experiencing, the sun shone over wembley and I have the tan lines to prove it believe it or not. My favourite acts of the day were Jessie J (whose voice is even better live), Coldplay (standard greatness), Pitbull (surprisingly, he is just such a great entertainer and performer - actually surprised) and Ed Sheeran (he is just beautiful and awww). The Katy Perry who ended the night just made it such a great ending. The only downer of the day was the ridiculous prices inside the stadium £5.50 for a smallish glass of Pimms and £4.80 for a glass of white wine (as you can see from the picture below that was stupid as those measurements were the full size). Other than that which was expected it was definitely the event of the year so far :)

Did anyone else go??
